A cappella popularity (on the net)

Domino Vocal Group

The group was born in January 2011. After a long experience in the choral field, 7 young people decided to carry out their musical inheritance of the a cappella singing (just voices, without any kind of instrument part) forming a vocal group. The idea comes from the intent to let people know different types of music in a new, original and sometimes ironic style, still remaining pleasant and interesting to listen to. Besides, all the members of the group are also instrumentalists and some of them are finishing their musical studies at the Conservatory “G.F. Ghedini” in Cuneo. In November 2011 they were invited as specials guests at the “Winter vocal festival 2011” in Pinerolo (Turin), a national festival of a cappella music.
In June 2012 they performed in Cugés les-pins (Marseille), presenting their new show “Blended voices”, in order to sponsor the three-year period dedicated to the promotion of Marseille as European Capital of Music. They also performed as guests, in December 2012, to “Play the Voice” in Padova, charity event organized by Vocalica (known Italian vocal group) and special guests such as Paola Folli (vocal coach from X-factor and vocalist of “Elio e le storie tese”) and Francesca Michielin (winner of the 2012 edition of “X-factor”).
Despite their young age, they have many concerts in their name and also masterclasses with artists the likes of Albert Hera and of the Swingle Singers. In Autumn 2012, they had the chance to work with Tobias Hug, former member of the Swingle Singers. They collaborate with the Conservatory “G.F.Ghedini” in Cuneo. In 2013 they took part of ItAcA project – Italian a cappella project (http://www.itacaproject.it/), that consist of a virtual choir made up of some italian vocal groups. This project was created by the baritone of the group Lorenzo Subrizi, and by the singer and Beatboxer Alessandro Gnolfo.
Their repertoire ranges from classical music to contemporary music, including pop, jazz and world music.
